Sex and the City was back with the premiere two episodes of the next chapter. It is a 10-episode series called And Just Like That… and it ended in shocking fashion.

As DailyMail.com exclusively reported in August, it was revealed at the end of the premiere that Mr. Big (Chris Noth) died of a sudden heart attack, shortly after exercising on a Peloton bike.

Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, a cardiologist and a member of Peloton’s Health & Wellness Advisory Council, issued a statement that shed more light on Mr. Big’s untimely demise, which was likely staved off for some time by his Peloton usage.

In the premiere episode, Mr. Big frequently referred to Allegra as his favourite Peloton instructor. At the end, his wife Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), attends Charlotte’s piano recital (Kristin Davies).

Big, after his exercise, is seen going to the shower when suddenly, he grabs his shoulder, and then collapses. Carrie says, “And so that Big died.”

Steinbaum was a huge Sex and the City lover and was shocked to hear of the passing. She also gave details about what may have caused the heart attack.

‘I’m sure SATC fans, like me, are saddened by the news that Mr. Big dies of a heart attack,’ Steinbaum began in her statement to US Weekly.

‘Mr. Big lived what many would call an extravagant lifestyle — including cocktails, cigars, and big steaks — and was at serious risk as he had a previous cardiac event in Season 6,’ she continued.

His death was likely due to his lifestyle and possibly his family’s history. He may have been able to avoid his death by riding on his Peloton bicycle, she said.

Delay: 'These lifestyle choices and perhaps even his family history, which often is a significant factor, were the likely cause of his death. Riding his Peloton bike may have even helped delay his cardiac event,' she added

Steinbaum also revealed that, ‘more than 80 percent of all cardiac-related deaths are preventable’ by changing one’s lifestyle, diet and exercise.

She continued, “While heart attacks account for 25% of all deaths in the United States each year, 25 percent are caused by patients who have already suffered one, such as Mr. Big), they can still be treated.”

‘It’s always important to talk to your doctor, get tested, and have a healthy prevention strategy. Peloton allows you to track your heart rate during your ride so that you can safely do it,’ she stated.

On social media, Mr. Big’s passing was received with mixed emotions. Some, such as @cathrynsetz suggested they may have, in fact, ‘just tanked Peloton’ during the episode’.

Some were worse off, including @helcnsharpe, who said that ‘I’ll never recover’ and was being serious.

@zourkandy stated another fan that Carrie was chasing the love of her life, which she then loses again.
