Police have shared photos of a boy, 14 years old, who died in a crush during a Travis Scott concert. They also share a photo of another victim to help track down his family.

John Hilgert was the youngest victim in the tragic crush that killed 8 people Friday night at Houston’s Astroworld Festival. 

A Memorial High School 9th grader, he is remembered as an outstanding baseball player as well as being a beloved student.

A spokesman for Spring Branch ISD said: ‘Our hearts go out to the student’s family and to his friends and our staff at Memorial. It is an awful loss and MHS is still grieving.

Please keep this family’s grief in your prayers and thoughts. Next week, counselors will be available for students to provide any support or assistance.

Justin Higgs was John’s favorite baseball coach and he also shared a sincere tribute via Instagram. He said, ‘RIP John Hilgert. The Almighty granted him the call up to the Major Leagues. John was an influence on all who had the opportunity to meet him, and many people will still remember him. I have memories of John I’ll never forget. 

“You must love this child. There was no other option than to love him for who he is. Baseball was his passion. It was a pleasure to coach him. Many prayers go out to any of his friends, teammates, and his family… especially Ms. Hilgert. 

‘One of the nicest human beings I’ve ever met. John was an Angel the whole time I knew him… impacting others for good and he himself was a legend. John is a legend. John, we will meet again. Keep watching over us, my friend. A great catcher, pitcher and shortstop. He lived his best life. 

Hilgert was seen as Houston’s medical examiner published a photograph of a victim that they are trying to identify. KTRK reported. 

According to reports, the man was in his 20s with short dark hair and a beard. He was also wearing size 11 Nikes. His height was 6 feet 2 inches and his weight was 498 lbs.

In the aftermath of Friday’s fatal crush, that victim was transported to Memorial Herman Hospital. Investigators have yet to say how he died, and have asked anyone with information about his identity to contact the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences at 832-927-5000, or 832-927-5001.

The victims, who age between 14 and 27, have been identified as the brother of one of those killed slammed the ‘poorly’ managed event ran by ‘horrible’ people.

Danish Baig (27 years old) was among those who were killed in the surge that occurred at the concert. University of Dayton student Franco Patino, 21, a senior, also died at day one of the Astroworld festival at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, the school said. 

Basil Baig confirms that Baig was murdered while trying to help a relative in the stampede during the concert. 

Basil shared the following Facebook post: “My brother was murdered in an awful Astroworld event, which was poorly managed and supervised by such terrible people,” 

He was kind enough to praise his late brother’s courage, and called him a “beautiful spirit.”  

Others whose deaths have been confirmed to various news outlets are 16-year-old Brianna Rodriguez and Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Peña, 23.

Basil wrote that Basil had saved his brother from the horrible acts being committed to my sister-in-law.

“I was there, but I couldn’t save my brother.” 

Basil stated that people were “hitting, pushing and shoveling” and “didn’t care about anyone’s lives.” 

He claimed that Stormi, the baby daddy of Kylie Jenner and superstar rapper Stormi, ‘provoked’ these people to do exactly that [stampede]He called the people up to the stage and asked them to join the audience. This did not interrupt the show. 

Basil said that Basil was also saying, “This wasn’t the end of my family. I will do everything in my power to ensure that he is tried and convicted.”

Pena died of cardiac arrest after being injured at the show

After being hurt at the event, Pena suffered cardiac arrest and died. 

On Saturday, the family of 16-year-old Brianna Rodriguez confirmed that she was one of the eight victims who died

Franco Patino (21-year-old student at University of Dayton) also passed away during the event. 

Patino, a big fan of the rapper, traveled all the way from Southern Ohio for Houston to attend the event along with his best buddy to mark his friend’s birthday. 

The college senior was studying engineering and was a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Alpha Psi Lambda.  

Patino was a participant in the special interest house of the society, which he created with Andy Prieto.

Patino stated that Andy and his wife worked tirelessly to realize this dream because they believed it was necessary to provide a place for Hispanics in the institution.

Scott shared a message on his Instagram on Saturday, where he told fans he was 'devastated' and was 'working closely with authorities'

Hilgret attended Friday’s concert with his long-time friend, Robby Hendrix, 15.

Hendrix’s mother, Tracy Faulkner, bought her son’s ticket it for his birthday and ‘ultimately regrets the decision.’

Faulkner stated to the Houston Chronicle that “everything about that evening was tragic.” “They were in the exact same spot at the same moment and they both came home, one of them we’ll never see again.”

She stated that Hilgret had been friends with Hendrix since childhood and they played football together.

John was polite, a great student, an athlete, and a very good friend. She said that John was her sweetest and most smart young man.

Their families identified two other victims as having died in the tragedy.  

Brianna Rodriguez, 16, People confirmed, and Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Peña, 23, confirmed by the Laredo Morning Times, were among the eight. 

Rodriguez was an accomplished dancer, and she graduated from high school as a junior. 

On Facebook, she wrote, “Gone from our websites, but not from our hearts,” to her family. 

The GoFundMe was set up by her family to pay for funeral costs. From its $30,000 goal, it has raised $8.910.  

Peña was an aspiring model and had dreams of becoming a U.S. Border Patrol agent, according to USA Today.  

To attend the Houston show with friends, he drove for five hours from Laredo. He died in cardiac arrest.  

The Laredo Morning Time was told by his sister that her brother was a sweet, kind, and friendly person. He was also outgoing and had many friends. Travis was his favorite artist and he enjoyed Travis music.

On Friday, approximately 50,000 people attended Astroworld Festival at NRG Park. Witnesses claimed chaos broke out when Scott performed. 

The surge took place at 9:15 PM. At that point, the’mass causalty incident’ was officially declared. A little over an hour later at 10:10 pm, Live Nation, the concert producer, stopped the show. 

On Friday night, hundreds of people were captured rushing through the VIP entry at Live Nation’s event. This raised concerns about crowd control and overcrowding. 

Scott, aged 29, performed after eight others were crushed to death, two of them just 14-year-old victims. Scott continued his performance in what one witness called a floor of bodies’ 

Video circulating on Twitter shows fans chanting ‘stop the show’ as concertgoers were being knocked down and crushed by other attendees.  

Scott called for assistance at one point, even though he had completed the 75 minute performance. He was also seen standing on a platform holding his microphone as chaos below him.

The rapper completed the show and even looked in the direction of the exhausted fans during the chaos. Scott did not perform the song, but was captured calling out for security help to the distressed front row fans. 

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner revealed during a press conference Saturday that the dead ranged in age from 14 to 27. They have not been identified as to their cause of death.  

Scott’s girlfriend Kylie Jenner was at the event and is currently pregnant. She posted a video of an ambulance attending to the sick and dying as chaos ensued.  

However, other video clips from that night show distraught fans begining concert staff to stop their performance and rescue them from this surge.

‘People are f***ing dying, I want to save somebody’s life,’ a man said as he climbed on a platform where a cameraman was filming the performance.
