Alfie Aiello Da Cruz was instantly killed when their red Nissan Qashqai crashed into a barrier while they were driving back to home from Boxing Day. It had been heavy raining heavily at the time.
An 11-year old boy was tragically killed during a Boxing Day accident on the M3. His parents were devastated and paid tribute today to their son, saying that they would miss him ‘forever’.
Alfie Alfie-Da Cruz succumbed instantly to injuries sustained when their Nissan Qashqai red Nissan smashed into an obstacle while the family was driving home in heavy rain on Boxing Day.
When the family was driving southbound along the M3, they collided with the barrier at the junction 11.
Alfie’s mother Anna Marcos, and her sister Chloe paid their respects today.
The statement read: “Our beloved Alfie. Your presence in our lives brought joy and light to our lives.
“Now, at just eleven years old, you were taken from us suddenly, and so young, it is going to be a long time before we can remember you.
“We will keep your love in our hearts until our final breath. And we pray that God will give us the last hug we ever wanted to give before we leave.
“We Love You and Will Always. Anna, Marcos, Chloe.
Hampshire Constabulary spokesmen said that officers are seeking information after a Winchester fatality.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening at 8.50 pm when Fair Oak family, just outside Eastleigh, was driving southbound M3 in a Nissan Qashqai. When the vehicle collided with the barrier, it was driving on junction 11.
“A 11-year old boy was brought to Southampton General Hospital, where sadly, later he died. A 61-year old man was driving the vehicle. He sustained severe injuries, possibly life-threatening, that caused him to lose his sight. The driver was transported to Southampton General Hospital.
“A woman aged 48 and a girl nine years old sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to Southampton General Hospital. Specialist officers are supporting the family.

The officers investigating the circumstances of the collision reiterated that they are open to any information.
Andy Storey of Inspector Andy said that they knew the family traveled from Basingstoke. We would appeal to anybody who was driving on this section prior to the collision and may have seen it to contact us.
“We also want to talk to anybody who saw the collision. What did you witness? Are you able to show dashcam footage of the accident or moments before?
