Police officers recover body of man in Thames. The victim, 20-year-old reveller who was last seen leaving Heaven nightclub almost three weeks ago.

  • Met Police officers found a body in the River Thames and recovered it, according to the force.
  • Yesterday, the RNLI notified officers about the remains at 11.51 AM.
  • Since its recovery, formal identification of the body has yet to be performed

Police have confirmed that a body was found in the River Thames, near where the disappearing 20-year old reveller went last seen.

The Met Police stated that officers had been alerted by reports yesterday of an unidentified body in the River.

The RNLI informed the officers at 11.51 am about the body found in Westminster near Embankment. 

Marine Support Unit police were called to the scene and assisted in the recovery of the body. At this point, the cause of death remains unsolved.

While a formal identification is not possible on the body found in the River Thames, the detectives working on the hunt for Harvey Parker (pictured by CCTV on December 17), have been alerted. 

Although formal identification of the deceased has yet to be done on their bodies, detectives are currently investigating. Harvey Parker has been missing since April 2009.

An officer from the family liaison has informed Mr Parker’s relatives of recent developments. At present, a report is being prepared for the coroner.    

Speaking in the statement today, Detective Chief Inspector Lucy O’Connor, of the Central South Command Unit, said: ‘Sadly a body has been recovered from the Thames near where Harvey was last seen. 

“We will provide Harvey’s family all information.” Media are asked to respect Harvey’s family’s privacy during this difficult and challenging time.

Harvey Parker (pictured), 20 years old, has been missing since Friday morning, December 17, 2017.

At 02:15 on Friday, December 17, Mr Parker was last seen exiting Heaven Nightclub at Charing Cross Railway Station in Westminster.

CCTV footage captured Mr Parker entering Craven Street, then heading south to the Embankment. He hasn’t been seen since.

A friend shared with me that a University of York student was at a Little Simz concert near Brixton in south London, before heading to the club.

The Metropolitan Police stated Wednesday that they had viewed CCTV footage near the Golden Jubilee Bridge. They believe that Mr Parker may have entered water at Theatre Royal Stratford East.

According to the force, there were no indications that anyone was being involved.
