Take a look at the distance! Prince Charles gingerly leaves Newcastle Central Station’s platform as he gets ready to meet Cheryl, Girls Aloud star at the city’s Changing Lives charity HQ.

  • Arrived this morning at Newcastle Central Station to first meet with representatives from London North Eastern Railway (LNER) 
  • Later, he will visit the headquarters and offices of the charity Changing Lives.
  • The royal was present at the Cop26 summit last week in Glasgow 










As he arrived at Newcastle Station this morning, the Prince of Wales was joined by a number of commuters. He’ll be meeting Cheryl from Girls Aloud.  

Charles, 72, is visiting the city to meet representatives from London North Eastern Railway (LNER) before heading to the headquarters of the Changing Lives charity.

As he made his way down the platform, the heir to the throne was dressed in a light-blue suit with a shirt and tie.

Stepping off at Haymarket Station after a short ride from Newcastle Central Station

After just a brief ride from Newcastle Central Station to Haymarket Station, I took the train to Haymarket Station.

The Prince was welcomed by Wear Susan Winfield and Lord-Lieutenant Tyne. They walked together up the platform ahead of their first engagement.  

Most likely, his most glamorous encounter will be with Cheryl (ex-singer with Girls Aloud). The star is a patron of the Changing Lives charity, which helps people experiencing homelessness through hostels and day centres. 

This week has been full of celebrity hob-nobbing. The royal met Leonardo DiCaprio, Stella McCartney and other celebrities at the COP26 conference in Glasgow last week.

The royal was humbler as he rode from the train to the metro, unveiled a plaque at Haymarket and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the service.
