Two weeks after losing her beloved friend, and former Mistress in the Robes the Duchess Of Grafton, Lady Farnham has died.
Lady Farnham was the Queen’s Lady in Bedchamber from 1987 to 2012 and rode alongside the Queen during her Diamond Jubilee service. She died at 90 four days following Christmas.
It follows the death of the Queen’s Mistress of the Robes Ann Fortune FitzRoy, the Duchess of Grafton, aged 101 last month and is another blow after the passing of husband Prince Philip in April.
Lady Farnham wed Barry Maxwell the 12th Baron Farnham, an Irish peer and Nova Scotia baronet who was killed in 2001.
According to a royal source, The Telegraph was told by a person close to the situation that it is very difficult for Queen Elizabeth II. Everybody loved Lady Farnham because she was so funny. Her glamorous looks and beautiful appearance made her a popular choice.
She was always generous with new members of the household.

“It was a difficult year for the Queen, having lost her husband, Duchess of Grafton, and now Lady Farnham.
“They were close friends that supported the Queen in her official duties. It is a terrible consequence to living long, to have to say good-bye to many people that you love.
It was her close friend, and she supported Queen Elizabeth for many decades. This was especially evident during the 2021 Diamond Jubilee Celebrations when she was asked to step in for Prince Philip because he was not well enough.
