Six years imprisonment was given to a civil servant who raped a teenage boy he made perform sex acts on him in an abandoned car park.
Vidul Vithlani was 27 years old when he forced his victim to perform oral sex on him in a London car park. On August 24, 2018, Vidul Vithlani claimed the claims were part her roleplay and BDSM fantasies.
The ‘extremely entitled and self-obsessed’ politics and international relations graduate was previously an employee of the Department for Work and Pensions, with his LinkedIn profile boasting of internships with MP John Leech and MEP William Newton Dunn.
He was sentenced to rape or sexual assault at the Old Bailey, however.
As he was sentenced to six years, he waved at his brother.
Vithlani told the court he and the victim had ‘sexted’ each other and discussed rough sex before they arranged to meet in his car to listen to music and smoke cannabis.
Then, he drove to an unknown parking lot before his sexual needs overtook her desires.
Vithlani said to the victim that Vithlani was driving up to get cannabis and then raped her before returning home.
He tried to organize another meeting for the victim after the incident before reporting it to the police.
He denied raping the victim, but a jury heard a recording of a phone call between Vithlani and the woman in which he told her: ‘I’m sorry I raped you.’
Vidul Vithlani (27) was sent to jail for six years after being convicted of rape at the Old Bailey. (pictured on Wednesday).
After delivering his sentence Judge John Hillen said to the court, “Entitled people believe the world revolves around their.” It was obvious that all of your evidence was about how awful that case was for you.
You were sad because you’d lost one year of university. It was clear that you did not have any interest other than to fulfill your sexual desires. As a rightful person, I placed you under arrest.
‘I used the word entitled because that’s how it appeared to me and no doubt the jury. It is one of the words that comes up in more than one pre-sentence reports.
Vithlani, the judge stated that Vithlani “played the cards of “how could a graduate civil service of good character bot believe against your victim?”
He had told the court that he described his relationship with the victim using the expression “friends with benefits”.
But, Old Bailey claimed that he was the one truly benefiting.
A victim said in an impact statement to the court that she feels “scared” by men and “terrified” of intimate relationships.
She stated that she was worried about her inability to trust men. I wish to rebuild my life so that one day we can have a real relationship.
‘I honestly feel that any time I am in a situation where I am alone with a man I have to be on guard. You are always at risk of being raped once more.
‘I have such trust issues I feel most scared of the men who are closest to me. Intimacy is something I fear with an inner voice that says if they say no, then they will stop. I struggle to kiss someone now without feeling that fear.’
Vithlani had sent a note to the judge informing him that he wanted to become a constructive member society.
It read, “I feel remorseful and sorry for my behavior and actions.”
“I’m so sorry for what I did to her and her well-being. It is clear that I am aware how badly I have affected her mental state. She should be happy and able to continue living her dream without any fear.
“I’m using this time to learn and reflect on my past mistakes. I desire to contribute constructively to society.
