Ryan Giggs was a bombshell in his domestic violence trial. It was shocking and salacious.
Manchester Crown Court heard from the ex-Manchester United star, 48. He cheated on Kate Greville with as many as 12 women, while also pledging his love and desire for a family.
Divorced father of two Giggs admitted that he never had been faithful to any woman and said he was a cheater and a lie – as well as jealous on ‘occasions’.
The jury, which included seven women and five male jurors, had to listen to a presentation of toe-curling poetry and occasionally X-rated text messages that were sent by the couple. “You are the butter in my breadnuts, the pasta in my lasagna and the salt in tequila” and “You make me hard as a totem stick.” These messages were read aloud in court by Lynne Giggs (66), Lynne’s mother.
Giggs stated in the rhyme poem that he had fallen for Miss Greville after he began an affair while married to Stacey, 44. He said that his “beautiful eyes” made him “shiver”, and that pulling on her was his “greatest coo ever.”
Giggs said that the pictures of Giggs’ stomach sent by a PR executive made him feel “funny down below.” Before signing the poem, Giggs wrote: You are my love and my friend. That makes me feel hard like a totem.
The poem was written in response Miss Greville’s other poem. She wrote, “You make me flutter because of the fact that you are a nutter.” You make me proud every day, not because you’re well-endowed.
Another WhatsApp message showed that Miss Greville called the former Wales manager ‘Giggsybaby,’ while Giggs called her ex a ‘baby cake’. The court heard that Greville also said he loves her more than all his Premier League appearances, which was a lot – over 1,000.
One love-up message from Miss Greville was about her and Giggs getting older together, and “still laughing” when they turned 70. “The best place in the universe” was not in Bali or the Caribbean, or playing with my mates golf. Instead it was in bed with Miss Greville in the “little crevice underneath my chin… legs interconnected.”
Here are some cringeworthy messages Miss Greville and Giggs exchanged during their six year relationship.
