The Duchess of York (pictured) was discussing her debut novel which was co-written with Marguerite Kaye

The Duchess was speaking about her debut novel with Marguerite Kaye (pictured).

Her Heart For A Compass is The Duchess, A fictional story about the life of her great-great-aunt Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.

Marguerite Kaye co-wrote the book. She has more than 50 historical romances, set in different eras.

However, it received mostly negative reviews in the press after hitting the shelves in August.

Criticisms called the book boring, a slow read and had to be reread several times. They also criticized its main character as insipid and its tone was both ‘archaic’ and modern. Almost all commented on the lack of sex and said it was at the ‘PG end’ of Mills & Boon.

Sarah claimed that Margarete Kaye (co-author) and Sarah, the author of more than 60 books each, were unified behind the work at the time.

In 2022, she will publish her second romance historical novel. This book will be written with Kaye.
