It is the moment when an avalanche spewed fresh snow onto a woman’s forehead during cold weather in north China.

Film footage captures the woman walking gingerly up the steps of her Langfang house in Hebei province on November 7, after she has received a package.

As she was going to close the door, a large slab of snow fell from the roof. It almost crushed her.

Video footage shows her being beaten on the head by large blocks as she attempts to hide.

The stunned woman fled from the avalanche which had buried the steps in ice. 

The woman was uninjured, but she needed to be brought back in to get over the shock.

Many parts of northern China have been affected by the freezing temperatures this month, as well as the first snowfall in the entire year. This has caused road closures as well as cancellations of train and flight flights.

Forecasters said the winter weather struck around a month earlier than usual due to the climate phenomenon known as La Niña. 

China Meteorological Administration (CMA), has foreseen major snowfalls within the next days. They will be accompanied by cold waves moving southwards that will engulf large parts of China.
