Since launching back in 2015, Snapchat’s filters – or ‘Lenses’, as it calls them – have become one of the most popular features on the app.

Snapchat’s best-known Lenses are probably the puppy dog ears and the original flower crown. But, there have been other filter innovations this year.

FILTERS AND APPS THAT MAKE BIGG LOOK AMAZING

Hugh Bonneville’s youthful appearance on the One Show was likely achieved using a filter or series of filters within the Zoom app.

Zoom’s Video Settings menu offers the best way to remove wrinkles or flaws.

Clicking on the checkbox will give you the option to adjust the slider so that your face can be smoothed out. The slider’s position is determined by how much you move it.

This’smoothing’ can be combined with other effects, such as a beta feature for’studio effect’ which allows you to adjust your eyebrows, moustache and lips digitally.

The general section ‘video filters’ allows you to change lighting settings and add a bit of glamour. You can even make your hair black or put flowers in it.

Apart from the built-in filters, you can also use a third party filter, like those made by Snap Camera Inc, makers of Snapchat.

The new Naomi Campbell Beauty filter gives you flawless skin and a smooth, even complexion.

As Rod Ponton, a Texas attorney discovered accidentally during Zoom hearings, other filters may alter your appearance in more drastic ways.

Mr Ponton became an internet sensation when footage emerged of him with his face obscured by a kitten filter found on Snap Camera.

Unfortunately, he didn’t know how the switch was turned on or off.

Snap Camera is required to enable beauty filters or become a kitten.

  • Snap Camera lets you choose which filter to apply
  • Close all applications that use your computer’s cameras after this.
  • Then reopen Zoom, or any other webcam app you’re using.

Zoom supports website has more information about Zoom video filters and enhancements, as well as how to make them available for meetings.
