A Zoom Training session live streamed by Zoom saw over 200 clients witness an armed burglar shoot their personal trainer.

Lawrence Masinge (a Pretoria, South African fitness instructor) was murdered during a session via video call with 200 people on 10/11.

Masinge was almost 4,000 on Instagram and was killed in an armed robbery.

A client who wishes to keep her anonymity out of safety concerns said that she entered Zoom at 6.30pm, and received the first gunshot almost 40 minutes later.

As she was participating in the training, she “heard a loud banging sound” and ran to check it out. That’s when her husband ran over to the screen and shouted: “This guy is being shot!”

It was stated that Zoom participants had been trying to determine Masinge’s address. A woman then called 911 on her mobile phone. She added: “Forty minutes later, he just lay there cold. And the police arrived along with the paramedics.

Others took to social media in an effort to get justice for the victim’s fitness coach.

A Twitter user named ‘Hottiie_Spaiinn tweeted that Lawrence Masinge was killed last night while attending a Zoom Meeting in his head. Suspected robbers kept on robbing the location, but cameras captured the number plate. Help raise awareness by retweeting this tweet

Online users are also using the hashtag ‘justiceforlawrencemasinge’ to make sure the local authorities thoroughly investigate the trainer’s death.

“Phuthi85” commented that he witnessed the worst scene. Lawrence Masinge, our amazing trainer was training us and then he brutally killed him during a Zoom cardio session. His family should be consoled.

Participation in the community program to promote exercise and sports among children was part of victim’s involvement. This was sponsored by Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.
