Furious South African President slams Britain for leading western world in ‘unjustified, unscientific’ travel ban due to omicron variant – but admits his country is on the verge of a fourth wave

  • Cyril Ramaphosa stated that the SA authorities will not consider locking down
  • He lambasted Britain for not allowing travel restrictions to be lifted from Western countries.

South African authorities were furious when Britain ban flights from southern African nations.

The measures were taken by Britain in reaction to South Africa’s Omicron Covid variant.

They are worried about the high amount of mutations, which raises concerns it might be more transmissible and vaccine resistant.

Omicron’s variant seems to be less transmissible than Delta.

The first detection was in South Africa. However, it has since been confirmed in Hong Kong, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
