A 17-year-old girl has died following a car crash in Derbyshire during the early hours of yesterday morning.
At 12.30am, emergency services were called to a crash involving a single car, a red Seat Leon on the A514 near the intersection of Breach Lane in Melbourne.
The teenager girl, believed to have been a passenger in the vehicle’s engine, was found on the scene and taken to the hospital, where she later died.
A 19-year-old woman, believed to be the driver of the car, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been discharged from hospital into police custody.

Another 17-year old girl, believed to have been a passenger on the flight, was taken to hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are not considered serious.
The car’s driver also sustained injuries that were not considered serious, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police are asking witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage that could be used to assist in investigations to come forward.
