The moment when a pair of inconsiderate thieves stole the mobility scooter belonging to a 51 year-old male at the crack of dawn.
At 2.39 a.m., CCTV captured two men driving the scooter out of the front yard of Ashton-under-Lyne’s home.
The distressed victim, who only wanted to be identified as Andrew, said: ‘I must admit, I was very unsettled as I heard them from inside when this happened.

Andrew gets a brighter light when people arrive to take away his scooter.
“I thought I was going to see, but it wasn’t the best idea.
‘I treat the scooter as a car, I feel like I’ve lost a part of my independence.’
Andrew, who was born with cerebral palsy, has been riding a scooter since the age of 15.
The vehicle, a grey TGA BREEZE S4 mobility scooter with a canopy roof and sides, retails at around £4,000 new.

Andrew uses the scooter for his daily life. They move it away from Andrew’s front yard.
On social media, the victim claimed that the theft was transported to a van.
He stated that it is common for the scooter to be changed approximately every three years.
He continued, “If they were my friends I’d ask them why.” My scooter isn’t a luxury product, it’s essential for me. They will do what the earth to it!
“At this time with Covid, I don’t go out much. But if I had to get to the grocery store, that would be impossible.
‘I’ve never experienced having my scooter stolen before and I’ve lived on this estate for 15 years.’

Andrew suffers from cerebral palsy, and relies on crutches to move around.
Because of the many surgeries, he needs a mobility device to transport him around.
This is a must-have for both hospital visits and daily life.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the theft on Sunday at 9.40am. They also said that no arrests had been made.
