Three weeks after New Year’s Day, Cyclist dies. Familie pay respects to “wonderful companion, daughter and sister”. Driver is also arrested for dangerous driving.

Trois weeks later, a bicycle was killed in an accident with a car. On New Year’s Eve, police are investigating the death of a motorist.

After the accident at St Peter’s Basin in Newcastle on December 31, Cyclist Laura Duncalfe was taken to hospital.

Today Northumbria Police confirmed in a statement that 31-year-old has died and that a 29-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

A tribute was also offered by the Duncalfe family to their loved one, Ms Duncalfe. They described her as an ‘amazing partner, sister and daughter’.

Following the collision at St Peter’s Basin (Ne Newcastle), on December 31st, Cyclist Laura Duncalfe, was taken by ambulance to hospital.

Her family paid tribute to her by saying: “Laura was an amazing partner, sister, and daughter.

She was an inspiration to many. All of us will miss her.

It occurred at 9.20am New Year’s Day.

Northumbria Police report that they were summoned to investigate a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle on St Lawrence Road in St Peter’s Basin.

Ms. Duncalf was an occupant of the area. She was taken to hospital for life-threatening injuries. died on January 23. 

Inspector Dean Hood, of Northumbria Police,  said he and his team are continuing to support Laura’s family and loved ones.

“Every death that happens on our roads is always extremely sad. But it’s especially tragic when someone has their entire future in front of them.

“We’ll continue to support Laura’s family and ask for privacy to help them come to terms.
