The two brothers that blew up a mother with a shotgun while she was making cottage pie were sentenced to 24 years in jail each.

Miss Robinson was in her kitchen in Westerhope, Newcastle, at around 10pm on October 3 last year, when she heard a loud bang and her window breaking before feeling something hit the side of her face and back.

After a dispute between her brother and Thomas Lee (21), James Lee (27) opened fire on Emma Robinson from her window as a vengeance attack.

They were previously found guilty of trying to kill Robinson by Newcastle Crown Court jurors. Now they are sentenced to 24 year imprisonment.

Miss Robinson spoke out during the trial and said that she’d been shot, but wasn’t aware at first.

She stated, “I was making cottage-pie in the kitchen facing the microwave.”

The glass was also heard at once.

“I felt something touch my side and then I looked around and saw it had caught my back.

I went directly through to the living area. You could see glass all around.

She said that the bang felt like an echo and she then felt something touch my face. However, I’m not sure if the glass was involved.

“I was shocked at that time,” she added. When you consider that it might have been very serious, this makes the situation more real.

Thomas Lee, 21

Thomas Lee and James Lee were previously convicted by Newcastle Crown Court jurors of trying to murder Robinson. Now, each of them has been sentenced for 24 years in prison

Robinson claimed that she is self conscious about the scars left by pellets in her arm, shoulder, and back.

She also mentioned that she had trouble sleeping, and has anxiety and depression.

Miss Robinson stated, “When I am alone at night, I think about what happened and what could have been worse.”

“I’m constantly thinking about my children’s fate if my injuries were any more serious. My mother is the one I rely upon and I don’t believe she would have been able to cope if she was forced to care for me.

She said she has now installed black out blinds in her home and that she no longer stands by windows.

Court heard that windows had been set on the mother of the Lee brothers and that they had acted in retaliation.

Jordan King, the Lees’ cousin was at his St Keverne Square flat, just a mile from Fordmoss Walk when he was attacked.

Simon Myerson, the prosecutor, said the prosecution did not need to prove the motive behind the attack. He told the jury however that Jordan King was killed because he was having an argument. Emma Robinson was injured because Thomas Lee had earlier been in an altercation with Emma’s son on October 3.

On October 3, Thomas Lee, a teenager, was seen screaming and shouting outside his father’s house.

“It seems that these shootings were done for revenge, and to show their cross.

After shooting Miss Robinson in the head, 26 hours before Mr King was killed, the Lees were cleared but found guilty by trying to kill him with a shotgun.

James Lee was found guilty of dangerous driving in the aftermath of the second attack. Also, he was convicted of ammunition possession when it is prohibited. This was after a period of five years that spanned from his 2016 imprisonment of nine months for racially or religiously aggravated harassment. Thomas Lee was convicted of possessing prohibited firearms.

James Lee was also found guilty of child cruelty in another unrelated case. He allegedly poured what he called chocolate onto a child’s face and told them that it was excrement.

Thomas Lee admitted that he assaulted a special constable and that he used racial harassment to harass a victim. He also confessed that he had marijuana in his possession.

Thomas and James will spend at least two thirds of the combined 48 years in prison. Judge Moreland found Thomas Lee to be a dangerous offenders and extended their licence for an additional four years.

James Lee will also be banned from driving for a year after his release.
