A man aged 60 is charged with causing the death of another person by unsafe driving.

  • She died in Four Lane Ends, Over Hulton at the intersection with Newbrook Road & Manchester Road.
  • Yesterday, she had fallen asleep as she crossed the street and was hit by a vehicle. 
  • Greater Manchester Police later detained a man in his 60’s on suspicion that he was dangerously driving and causing death.
  • The incident has now been investigated and he was released. 










A woman has died  after being hit by a car on Christmas Day when she collapsed into a busy road. 

She was killed at Four Lane Ends, Over Hulton near Bolton at the junction of Newbrook Road and Manchester Road.

After being called at 7.05pm yesterday, police responded to the call.  

Initial inquiries revealed that this woman was actually a pedestrian.

As she crossed the road, the woman began to collapse.

After she fell, she was struck by a car.

Greater Manchester Police later detained a man in his 60s.

The police arrested him for causing the death of someone driving dangerously.

Since then, he has been placed under investigation. 

Now, police want any witnesses to share information regarding the incident.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit’s PC Phil Collingwood said that he would like to first offer his condolences for the family of the victim.

“Our investigation continues – I appeal for anyone who saw this incident, or has any footage that may help us get in touch with as soon as possible.”
