After a woman ran up and shouted Andrew, Andrew! at Prince Andrew this morning, he was stunned. Through his car window.

When the Duke of York was making his short commute from Windsor Castle, his Royal Lodge, to Windsor Castle, to ride horses, a woman appeared out of nowhere.

Photographs show her smashing the window and shouting at Prince. He is awkwardly seated in the car seat.

A source who witnessed the incident told MailOnline: 'As he [Andrew] got to the junction crosses the public road, this woman literally appeared out of nowhere and started banging on the window shouting "Andrew, Andrew!"'

MailOnline received this statement from a witness to the incident: “As it was he [Andrew]Upon reaching the intersection crossing the public road, the woman appeared from nowhere. She began banging on the windows shouting, “Andrew! Andrew!”

Later, the woman was seen by nearby police being interrogated.

At 9.45 am today, the exchange occurred on a road running through Queen Berkshire’s estate. 

MailOnline was told by a witness to the event that it looked just like every other day as Andrew drove from Royal Lodge up towards Windsor Castle, where he went riding.

‘As Andrew got to the crossroads of the public road, this lady literally appeared from nowhere and banged on the window screaming “Andrew!” 

The police quickly arrived and took the woman to interrogation. She didn’t seem to be trying to assault him but it was evident that she got his attention.

The woman was later seen being questioned by police nearby

'The police got there very quickly afterwards and took the woman away to question her. I don't think she was trying to attack him or anything, but she certainly got his attention'
