Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston were two of the stars who took to social networking Sunday to remember their friend James Michael Tyler. Tyler died after a three-year battle against stage four prostate cancer.
Aniston, 52 was a friend of the late actor and shared photos with him, writing: ‘Friends would have not been the same without your help.’
She said, “Thank you for all the laughter that you brought to the show and all of our lives.” You will be missed,’ she added the hashtag #JamesMichaelTyler as well as a broken-heart emoji.

A rep for the actor, who played Gunther on the hit NBC series, confirmed the actor’s passing to TMZ earlier Sunday.
The Friends reunion was earlier this year and the stars shared poignant words in memory of their late costars.

RIP: Friends actor James Michael Tyler died at 59 at his Los Angeles home on Sunday following a three-year battle with stage four prostate cancer. He was photographed in London in 2015.
‘The world knew him as Gunther (the seventh “Friend”), from the hit series “Friends,” but Michael’s loved ones knew him as an actor, musician, cancer-awareness advocate, and loving husband,’ his family said in a statement.
His family said that Michael loved live music and cheered on his Clemson Tigers. He was often found in unplanned and fun adventures. You will always be a friend of Michael once you meet him.
The actor was first diagnosed in 2018 with cancer and did not reveal his battle until this year.
Tyler appeared on 150 episodes during the show’s run from 1994 to 2004. He has also appeared on shows like Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Modern Music. Scrubs.
Tyler is survived by his large Jennifer Carno.
The Friends reunion special featured the beloved actor earlier this year.

Tyler opened up last June about his battle with cancer, appearing on Today’s Today Show.
He said, “I was diagnosed with advanced prostatectomy, which had spread into my bones.” ‘I’ve been dealing with that diagnosis for almost the past three years … It’s stage four. Late-stage stage cancer. It’s likely to get me eventually, you know.
He claimed that he was diagnosed after a September 2018 visit in which he received an ‘extraordinaryly high number’ for a prostate-specific antigen.
“I knew instantly when I went online and saw the results of my blood tests and blood work that something was wrong with my prostate,” he said. “Nearly immediately, my doctor called and asked me to come in tomorrow. He suspected that you might have a serious problem with the prostate.”
The actor was seen on the show performing with Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, and Jennifer Aniston.
After undergoing chemotherapy, the actor was seen in June as a cancer awareness advocate.
After a year of hormone therapy, his cancer spread to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He stated that he missed going to a test and that was a bad thing. “So, the cancer decided to mutate during the pandemic and it’s continued.
Tyler appeared on the Friends Reunion Special on HBO Max in May via Zoom.
He stated that he wanted to be part of the festivities and initially hoped to be on the stage with them and be able take part in the festivities. “I was very happy to have been included.
‘It wasn’t my decision to be a part in that physically and make an appearance at Zoom, basically. I didn’t want to bring a downer on the subject, you know? I didn’t want it to be like, “Oh and Gunther has Cancer.”
The actor was born in Winona Mississippi on May 28, 1962. He grew up with his sister in Anderson, South Carolina after the death of his parents.
He graduated in 1984 from Clemson University and obtained a master’s degree in 1987 from the University of Georgia. He moved to Los Angeles in the following year and worked as a production assistant at Guitar Center and Bourgeois Pig before being cast on Friends.
On Sunday, social media was filled with tributes to the actor.
