In doing so, she discovered a lot of things hidden in the contracts that people don't know about - including a lot of ways to get compensated

The terms and conditions for every airline were read by her, and she found many hidden clauses that are not obvious to the public. There are also several ways to receive compensation.

On TikTok, Erika explained that if an American Airline flight gets delayed past 11:59 P.M., the airline has to rebook you on a flight for the next day and pay for a hotel for you to stay in

Erika from TikTok explained that American Airlines will rebook your flight if you are delayed beyond 11:59 P.M. and then pay for lodging for you.

Erika showed us in a video which has been seen more than one million times that American Airline will cancel any flight that is delayed beyond 11:59 P.M. They also have to pay for hotel accommodation for you. 

We will cover any costs associated with an approved hotel if necessary, or a night stay if the disruption was our fault. 

Erika also explained in another viral video that Delta Airlines can pay you if your bag is delayed.

She said Delta will reimburse customers for anything they have to buy due to the baggage delay — up to $3,800.

“Because my bag has been delayed, I need to buy shoes from Nike, clothing from Nordstrom and skin care products from Sephora until it arrives,” she stated in TikTok. She was pretending to be a customer who had lost her bag. It will likely cost around $1,000.

You can get up to $3,800 from the airline

Delta will pay customers up to $3,800 for any baggage delay-related purchases.

According to Delta's contract of carriage, you must alert them of the situation within 24 hours to get reimbursed

Erika revealed that United Airlines will also reimburse customers whose baggage got delayed up to $3,500

You must notify Delta within 24 hours of becoming aware of your situation to be reimbursed under their contract of carriage 

Erika was then played by a Delta employee. He replied, “Ugh, fine. Make sure to save receipts of the $1,000 that you have spent and send them in for reimbursement.” I don’t know who taught me this.

“Erika did it, she is a lawyer, and she reads all the fine print for me so that I don’t have too,” she said. 

Delta’s carriage contract states, “Delta cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to baggage or delayed delivery thereof unless notice of a complaint is filed with a Delta office no later than 24 hours following the alleged event and an action not taken within one calendar year.

Delta will pay you any expenses incurred due to the problem if you notify them within 24 hours. 

Erika says that United Airlines will reimburse passengers whose luggage was delayed beyond $3,500. 

In a third TikTok, which has 36 million views, Erika revealed that if an airline overbooks a flight and you are forced to take a different one, you can get thousands of dollars for their mistake — something called ‘involuntary denied boarding.’

‘Occasionally, airlines may “bump” passengers and have them give up their seats. Bumping, also known as “denied boarding,” happens when there are more passengers scheduled to fly on an airplane than available seats,’ the Department of Transportation wrote on their website.

'Airlines may bump passengers and have them give up their seats,' the Department of Transportation wrote

'It happens when there are more passengers scheduled to fly than available seats'

According to the Department of Transportation, airlines could bump passengers or make them leave their seats in order to accommodate more people than there are seats available.

If the next flight they book you on is one to two hours later, you can get reimbursed with 200 per cent of one-way fare. And if it's over two hours, you can get 400 per cent of one-way fare

The 200-percent reimbursement is available if the flight you were booked on was within one to two hours. If it takes more than two hours to get there, 400% of the one-way fee will be reimbursed.

You are eligible for compensation if you have a confirmed reservation, checked-in to your flight on time, arrived at the departure gate on time, and the airline cannot get you to your destination within one hour of your flight’s original arrival time.

You can be reimbursed up to $775 if the next flight you book is within one or two hours. And if it’s over two hours, you can get 400 per cent of one-way fare (up to $1,550).

There are some situations, however, that will prevent you from receiving any money from the airline.

Erika claims that Apple provides a 400% discount for students in college and their parents. This includes faculty, staff and teachers from all grade levels.
