Prince Charles appeared in high spirits as he hosted an evening reception for winners of Queen’s Awards For Enterprise at Windsor Castle tonight.
As he joined award winners at the event, the Prince of Wales looked sharp in his navy pinstripe suit and was seen talking with Kwasi Kwarteng, Secretary of State for Commerce.
Instead of his usual greetings, the men shake hands and appear to be sharing a laugh with each other as they meet.
The engagement was attended by Princess Anne and Countess Sophie Wessex.

This comes just days after the Queen flew back to Windsor Castle via helicopter, following a brief stop at Sandringham. She continues her recovery and is determined to be fully fit for Remembrance Sunday.
The queen, who is 95 years old, took off yesterday in her Sikorsky S76C. This helicopter flight, also known as The Queen’s Helicopter Flight was taken at around 11.15 am. It arrived five days after arriving on Thursday at her Norfolk estate.
When she arrived at Windsor castle’s reception, The Countess was elegantly dressed in a long black dress.
Witnesses stated that the helicopter touched down at Sandringham just after 10 AM, and the Queen drove through the estate in her direction. Notice to Airmen was issued, which meant that nobody else could fly within the region.
Then, the helicopter worth around £5million was then seen landing at Windsor Castle and the Queen was driven through the grounds of her Berkshire residence in a Range Rover following her return.
It comes after the head of state was pictured being driven through Sandringham in a Range Rover A-Bio Sdv8 diesel vehicle over the past several days – including yesterday, last Saturday and last Friday.
The helicopter took her to Windsor by last Thursday. It was her second overnight stay in hospital.
Later, Charles could be seen shaking hands with Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London Sir Kenneth Olisa
Meanwhile the Duke of Kent was also in attendance at the reception this evening (pictured speaking with Permanent Secretary at the Department of Business Sarah Munby)
Wood Farm, Sandringham was visited by the Queen, who used to go there every year with Prince Philip. She is now on a break from official visits after her doctors told her she should cancel them all for two weeks.
Buckingham Palace stated that the Queen had previously indicated her ‘firm intention to attend’ the Remembrance Sunday wreath-laying ceremony at Whitehall’s Cenotaph to honor Britain’s war veterans. This is one of her most important events on the year’s calendar. This would mark her first event in person since October 19, when she attended a reception.
Yesterday Her Majesty decided to cancel her planned visit to the COP26 conference on climate change in Glasgow. She instead recorded a message from Windsor which was broadcast to global leaders Monday last week.
After the pandemic, insiders claim that the queen was keen to welcome her family to Sandringham this Christmas after she flew 105 miles back to Windsor.
Buckingham Palace refused to provide any official comment on Queen Elizabeth’s weekend off, but a source close to the royals confirmed that she had returned from her weekend at Windsor Castle.
